The Renowned Musician Urges Backing to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.

A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Solidarity and an "Surprise Victory"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn't manage to, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a dignified life that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the piece was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the scene. All were part of the September show, which managed to collect a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The song blends a combination of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These donations will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a figure commented. “We aim for as much as possible. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to Gaza.”

The context in the territory was described as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a few million won't make that much difference. But I think the significant factor is primarily raising awareness for this issue and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a popular streaming site from the 19th of December.
