Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court after that period of that year.

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was over.
But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an better serve.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to create a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, he clinched victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
